A new global report states that more than a quarter of time spent online and a third of all internet usage is via mobile. In average, a person has five social media accounts and spends around 1 hour and 40 minutes browsing on social media. According to the latest quarterly report from GWI 28% of the total time of person is spent on the web.
In the report above we can see Pinterest gaining new followers, and Facebook is declining in active users over the last year. But in fact Facebook remains the largest online community. 82% of the world’s population have a Facebook account and 4 in 10 people use this social network.

Youtube keeps growing and is the most popular social network with a visitation rate eight percentage points higher than Facebook. Because you don’t need to login to post a video on this social video network 81% of the internet users says they have visited the website in the last month, compared to 73% who visit Facebook.
As we can see on the image above YouTube’s lead over Facebook, and is particularly pronounced in Japan and Russia. According to GWI these two markets have been challenging for Facebook. Youtube wins with 40% over 32% for Facebook.
GWI also states that YouTube is also well known among the teenage market. Fifth os teenagers choose this video platform to share their videos, followed by 16% who prefers Instagram and 14% voted on Facebook.
Although adults choose Facebook. 37% of the inquires says they prefer Facebook. 22% picked YouTube and just 6% goes for Instagram.
